Sindy Lau

Sindy is a cross-media artist, her creations include visual arts, picture book, illustration and mural etc. She is also a planner and one of the lecturer of Diploma in Creation & Culture of Picture Book at Hong Kong Productivity Academy. 

Through the paintings series of Hong Kong cityscape, Sindy conveys her own impression and attitude of the city she live. Chaos, another series of works, Sindy likes to explore the variation of the natural ecological species.

The watercolour illustrations “Big city and ordinary people”, Sindy integrates her care and imagination into the community, peoples and animals. She also adopts an Indian star tortoise Ah-Sing, a street cat Gulu and the stray cat inspires her to create the character and story of "Midnight Hunter's Wear".

She was the Winner of The Best Illustration (Multi-Media) Award, The Best Illustration (Self-Initiation & For Sale) Award in the 2nd Greater China Illustration Awards, First runner-up of Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition (Painting). Her work was selected in the finalist of Ink Global 2020, The 1st Malaysia Watercolour Biennale 2018, the 7th National Exhibition of Watercolour and Gouache Paintings and Archive Special - 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide 2005.

Her works are collected by Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Washington, Philippe Charriol Foundation, local and oversea collectors.

Founding Committee Member and former Chairlady (2012-2014) of Hong Kong Society of Illustrators. Chairlady of the Organising Committee of The 3rd Greater China Illustration Awards.
